About Kristina Vanous
I am a fine artist and designer living in the greater Seattle area of Washington state. Every piece I create is born from transformation.
For over 25 years, I’ve worked as a cross-platform designer in both graphic and interior design, creating for a wide range of clientele. But in 2023, at the end of a difficult marriage, I returned to something more personal: Painting. In the midst of all the painful stuff I was dealing with during that tumultuous time, it was the one thing I enjoyed doing that I could control. It helped me to heal and reconnect with my own voice and identity after years of being silenced and diminished. What began as a daily therapeutic outlet soon evolved into a deeply meaningful practice and purpose.
My fine art studio is a flourishing creative sanctuary where my creations come to life. My work is deeply rooted in themes of healing, feminine energy and resilience. I often explore these ideas through my various series.
Most of my pieces are acrylic or oil over acrylic on canvas or panel. Each work is created with intentional symbolism; whether it’s a glass-wing butterfly, a diamond containing an eyeball or blooming florals growing from metaphorical ash.
In 2025, I was formally diagnosed with both ADHD and Autism. This was something that brought so much clarity and compassion to the way I view myself and my path. I now use my work to not only reflect my own healing, but to uplift others as well, especially those in the neurodivergent and trauma-recovery communities. We are not broken. We are layered, luminous and worthy of being seen.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. I hope it speaks to your journey as much as it has spoken to mine.
