The Dung beetle can pull 1,000x its own body weight. There are so many of us that carry a lot of unnecessary weight on our shoulders to the point of almost being crushed. Just because someone couldn't see your worth though, doesn’t mean you don’t have any. Like the dung beetle, you can still shine, even in the shittiest of circumstances. Just because someone doesn’t see your value doesn’t mean it isn’t there. You are meant to be here and you’re allowed to pursue what matters most to YOU.

I was in the midst of my divorce after suffering years of emotional and mental abuse, with my body in an almost constant state of survival mode. My value, contributions and sacrifices were neither seen, nor appreciated. My ideas, suggestions and feelings were consistently squashed. For a long time, I didn’t realize my own wants and dreams were just as important as anyone else’s. I fell into a dark pit of depression and was so tired of being looked at like an insect. Then I began to reflect on the topic of insects; what they represent and what their purposes are on this earth. I wanted to see them, really SEE them, up close. They are absolute jewels, wonderfully and creatively made!

The Dung Beetle is a one-of-a-kind, original painting created with a combination of traditional Golden and Arteza acrylics as well as the relatively new Interference acrylics, also by Golden. The color-changing nature of these paints seemingly makes these come to life.

Free Shipping on all Domestic Orders within the USA, Canada and Mexico. Art under five feet (60 inches | 152.4 cm) will arrive on original stretchers. All art over five feet (61 inches | 153 cm +) will be disassembled and rolled, packaged with stretchers inside for easier, more economical shipping.
