Lily Original Painting

$3,000.00

16” x 20” oil over acrylic on stretched canvas.

The ongoing Ladies in Bloom series began in July of 2022 as a journey of self-healing and discovery. Kristina spent many years emotionally and creatively stifled. Upon finding her newfound freedom and yearning to express herself, Kristina wanted to encapsulate the feminine energy “in bloom” - the life-giving ideas, expressions, positivity, gratitude and outpouring of one’s own internal beauty once given the opportunity to fully embody her true feminine nature.

Lili, with her fragrant explosion of tropical florals and lush foliage, is exotic elegance. The shadowy black with luminous interference colors of gold, pink and blue peeking through the cracks serve as a reminder that even through a dark trials, your light will still find a way to shine through. The contrast between Lili’s smooth, skin and petals against the textural background enhances her dramatic allure, making this composition a striking centerpiece for collectors who value emotionally resonant, visually arresting works.

As with every piece of art Kristina makes, this one is loaded with symbolism. White Lilies can be found at weddings as often as funerals, suggesting both purity and death. In this instance, it represents death of the ‘imposed’ self in order to find the essence of one’s pure, true soul. The vibrant, peachy orange calla lilies are a reminder to be courageous in light of the unknown and remain determined to fulfill every dream. Purple lilies are for wisdom and Holy guidance, serving as a reminder that as long as she continues trying to make the world a better place, she is on the right path. Tiny Lili of the Valley blooms are meant to symbolize sweetness and a return to happiness.

Plumerias are a nod to life in Hawaii as well as the positive symbolism of grace, beauty and new beginnings. Plumerias thrive in volcanic soil. And lastly, a single purple orchid sits in the center of this luscious bouquet as a symbol of dignity and self-respect. Your worth is not determined by someone else’s perception of you.

This piece speaks to the transformative power of femininity and the mind. She is timeless, powerful and unapologetically bold.
