The ongoing Ladies in Bloom series began in July of 2022 as a journey of self-healing and discovery. I wanted to encapsulate the feminine energy “in bloom” - the life-giving ideas, expressions, positivity, gratitude and outpouring of one’s own internal beauty once given the opportunity to fully embody her true feminine nature.

Rose’s floral crown spills forward, gently veiling her eyes as if inviting the viewer into a world felt more deeply than seen. The colors form a visual story of love, emotional richness and “glowing up”. Her chin rests delicately upon her hand; a quiet moment of introspection and tranquility.She represents a woman who has learned to inhabit her softness without losing her strength.

As with every piece of art I create, this one is loaded with symbolism. Overall, roses symbolize love, beauty, sensuality. Bright, fiery orange represents life, energy, passion and excitement. Softer shades of peach are used to express sincerity or gratitude. The warmth of yellow roses symbolizes friendship and joy. They also used as a sign of remembrance or affection. Pink roses in general express admiration of someone’s refinement, elegance or femininity. The darker shades of pink convey a sense of appreciation, while pale pinks are generally used to give a sense of admiration, joy or gentleness. Ivory roses symbolize charm, luxury and elegance.
